Charity Work

Simon Tilsley, London To Berlin

Welcome to my charity updates page, where I’ll keep you informed about my ongoing charity work and upcoming fundraising events.

2024 Challenge

In 2024 I plan to take part in 6 days of the Ride Across Britain as part of the Babble Rabble. I have a friend’s wedding to attend, which means I need to be back for, so I can’t complete the whole ride. I took part in 4 days in 2022, which was absolutely incredible, so I’m extremely excited to take part in the ride again.

2023 Challenge

In 2023 we took part in the Cheshire Three Peaks Challenge with a team from Babble raising over £1,500 for Francis House Children’s Hospice. Francis House is an incredible organisation in Manchester which Provides appropriate respite and end-of-life care for children and young people with life-limiting illness and the necessary support and short-term care for their families.

2022 Challenge

In 2022 I took part in the first 4 days Babble’s Ride Across Britain helping raise money for The Prices Trust. I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity that Babble provided to join on this epic journey. Personally raising £1,800.00, the event it’s self raised over a million pounds for different charitys.

2020s Challenge

2020’s Challenge – ‘Big Bala Swim’ for Charlotte’s Brightside In 2020. I eagerly took on the challenge of the ‘Big Bala Swim,’ a formidable 4K open water swim. My goal was not only to test my swimming abilities but also to raise funds for the remarkable organization, Charlotte’s Brightside. The experience was both exhilarating and fulfilling, knowing that the funds raised were contributing to a worthy cause.

2019s Challenge

2019’s Challenge – ‘Big Welsh Swim’ for Charlotte’s Brightside During the summer of 2019, I embarked on a significant challenge: completing a grueling 6KM open water swimming event in North Wales, aptly named the ‘Big Welsh Swim.’ This endeavor aimed to not only enhance my long-distance swimming skills but also to support the incredible work of Charlotte’s Brightside. I successfully completed the swim, and you can delve deeper into my journey [here](insert link). Thanks to the unwavering support of my friends, family, my BNI Group, and my business associates, we managed to raise over £1500 for this noble cause.

Fundraising For Cancer Research

My commitment to making a difference led me to raise over £9,000 for Cancer Research UK. This substantial sum was achieved through a series of events, each one pushing me out of my comfort zone and challenging me to try something new. Here’s a glimpse of my fundraising milestones:

2013 – Cycling from Blackpool to Paris (Planned and Executed Independently)

2014 – Running the London Marathon

2015 – Cycling from London to Berlin (Independently Planned and Executed)

Various Charity Evenings, Musical Performances, and Fundraising Activities

These events were not only opportunities for personal growth but also a chance to contribute significantly to the fight against cancer. Together, we are making a meaningful impact, and I look forward to sharing future charity endeavours with you.

Thank you for your continued support and generosity.
