I’ve been running sprint triathlons since 2015 and loved everyone. Since taking part in these events, friends and family have often said to me that I should look at signing up to an Ironman event.
I’ve never really taken the suggestion seriously as I’ve always been unsure about the running aspect of the Race. Although I ran a few half marathons and 1 full marathon I’ve never felt like a stong runner. I find swimming and cycling much more enjoyable.
During the lockdown, I’ve been thinking of what my next challenge could be. This year I was planning a 4 mile swim and 2 sprint triathlons, all 3 were cancelled due to COVID 19.
I’ve managed to get a place for the 70.3 Ironman in Cork, Ireland in August 2021.
This is going to be a big challenge for me but will allow me to focus and training to complete this epic event. I’m really looking forward to training and working hard over the next 11 months to make sure I’m in the best condition to complete this event.
